NOA TRAINING

GWO

Global Wind Organisation (GWO), founded in 2012, is a non-profit organization consisting of wind turbine manufacturers such as GE, Vestas, and Siemens Gamesa, as well as wind power facility owners. Its headquarters are located in Copenhagen, Denmark.

Established to promote safety and quality standards in the global wind energy industry, GWO works to establish and maintain standardized training and certification programs for wind turbine manufacturers, operators, service providers, and other wind power related companies.

In particular, for offshore wind turbines, in order to transfer to a wind turbine of manufacturer that is a member of the GWO, the operator must take the Basic Safety Training (BST) established by the GWO and hold a certificate of completion that is valid for two years.

With the rapid expansion of the wind industry, it is essential to establish consistent safety behaviors and enhance worker skills to prevent accidents and ensure efficient operation. GWO has developed and updated training covering the following areas: Working At Height, First Aid, Fire Awareness, Manual Handling, Sea Survival, and many other areas of necessary skills.

GWO’s training standards are recognized worldwide and are benchmarks of safety and competence in various regions and countries. Centers and instructors must meet strict requirements to ensure the quality and effectiveness of their training.
