NOA TRAINING is
solving shortages of Human Resource and Skill
Offshore wind is expected to be the main power source for achieving carbon neutrality by 2050, and the Japanese government has set a goal of installing 30 GW to 45 GW (equivalent to 30 to 45 nuclear power plants) of offshore wind capacity by 2040.
On the other hand, until now there has been almost no offshore oil and natural gas extraction industry in Japan, which is thriving in Europe and the Americas, so the accumulation of technology and the development and securing of human resources capable of performing construction and maintenance in the harsh offshore environment is a challenge for Japanese offshore wind industry.
NOA TRAINING was established with funding from the Nippon Foundation, in partnership with Nagasaki Prefecture and the City of Nagasaki.
Course
The Nagasaki Ocean Academy (NOA), which opened in 2020 as Asia’s first professional training institute for marine energy development, has accumulated knowledge of the offshore wind industry and introduced the know-how of Maersk Training, a leading training provider in Europe. NOA provides Global Wind Organisation (GWO) certified training to ensure that technicians in the offshore wind industry can perform their jobs safely and efficiently.
